NBA obtained planning approval for this Retirement Living development which lies within Lichfield City centre’s sensitive conservation area. The scheme comprises no. 44 apartments and numerous communal areas and services for residents, including a house managers office and reception area, residents lounge, internal mobility scooter and refuse store, a guest suite for visitors and communal gardens.
The facades have been de-constructed by specific materials and projections to help articulate the elevations, and reduce the overall mass of building, bringing depth, shadow, reveal, strength and verticality.
The fourth storey is expressed through specific material use that visually detaches this level from the main mass of the building to appear more subservient. This further helps to articulate the street facade and provides the opportunity for larger apartments with outdoor terraced areas, that will be afforded to panoramic views of Lichfield.
